EARLY DIAGNOSIS

IS IMPORTANT

We encourage parents to schedule their child’s initial exam at age 7. In some cases, Dr. Halabi will recommend early, interceptive treatment. With early treatment he can take the least invasive approach to address skeletal issues that, left unchecked, may require more invasive approaches in the future. However, in many cases, we recommend putting off treatment until the child has all of his or her adult teeth. If waiting for treatment is recommended, we’ll see your child once or twice a year to monitor their growth and assess their needs. These very important growth and development appointments are provided free of charge.

OPTIONS FOR ADOLESCENTS

Between the ages of 11 and 15 is the most common time for orthodontic treatment, and for good reasons. By 12, most, if not all, of the permanent teeth are in place, and crooked teeth, gaps and bad bites are highly visible. We can often take advantage of the remaining growth to make the necessary orthodontic corrections to create an exceptional smile for your child. Since many of their friends are in braces at the same time, most adolescents LOVE sharing the braces experience. After school visits at Halabi Orthodontics feels a lot like friends getting together with friends.

Whether you choose metal or clear braces, hidden braces or Invisalign, at Halabi Orthodontics you’ll have the benefit of Customized Smile Design. Then, imaging software translates that into a 3-D representation of your bite. Using Dr. Halabi’s diagnosis and treatment plan, your braces and wires are custom-fabricated. You get your new smile!

The Damon Smile System is a fast, comfortable treatment option that gives Dr. Halabi the ability to straighten your teeth comfortably. Damon braces don’t require elastics to hold the wire in place. Hidden (lingual) braces are bonded to the inside of your teeth where they can do their work without being visible. They take some getting used to, but are a popular alternative to conventional braces for anyone not interested in showing off their braces. For most patients, clear braces or clear aligners provide the esthetic look they want during treatment and the smile they’ve always wanted when treatment is complete. But for some, the hidden approach offered by lingual braces is just what the doctor ordered.

The Invisalign® System straightens your teeth without wires and brackets, using a series of clear, customized, removable aligners. It’s virtually invisible, which means you can straighten your teeth without announcing it to the world. Invisalign moves your teeth in small steps to the desired final position. Each of your aligners is precisely customized to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. You switch to a new set of aligners every couple of weeks and only remove the to eat, brush and floss. Before you know it you’ll be smiling like you never have before! While all of our treatment options are faster than traditional orthodontics, we’re now offering two incredible technologies to speed up your treatment – because our priority isn’t to get you INTO braces, we want to get you OUT of braces with the best result – in the least amount of time. We can add Acceledent and Propel to your treatment regardless of the type of treat ment you choose. You use Acceledent for 20 minutes a day and its gentle micro-pulses (vibrations) stimulate the bones in your jaw so that your teeth move into the desired position up to 40% faster. It’s comfortable and easy to use. With Propel, a quick in-office procedure jump-starts tooth movement and can be used on one or two stubborn teeth or for your entire smile.
